so I (Amanda) finally got around to making Avery a book about his birth.  So here is a preview of it!

A Crazy Weekend

Well this last weekend we decided to make a quick trip to see Amanda's family.  Well a few miles from their house, our car decides to break down.  Well we got plenty of help there, and the decision was made that it must be the fuel pump on the car that went out.  So we hauled it to Amanda's uncle's shop to work on it (he was out of town though).  Needless to say, two days later, a bunch of fuel lost trying to get to the fuel pump, and a whole new fuel pump, the car still wouldn't start.  It was actually the timing belt that went out!  So we decided to swallow our pride and have a mechanic fix it.  However, this was on Saturday and the mechanic wasn't available until Monday.  So we had to borrow Amanda's grandma's truck to come home so Brian could go to work on Monday.  The car got fixed and so Tuesday we ran down there to get the car.  One of the reasons we went to visit Amanda's parents was to go Kayaking in the pool.  Since Brian spent the whole weekend fixing the car, we didnt' get a chance to do that.  So we decided to get in the pool really quick on our trip down there Tuesday.  We didn't get any kayaking pictures, but we got some fun pictures nonetheless.  Lily loved the pool.  She really liked to splash herself.  Avery loved floating around on his "boat," which was some sort of inflatable pool toy.  Even though it was a quick trip, it was still fun!

FHE at the Temple: Part 2

So we have been waiting for the flowers to come out at Temple Square and for the weather to actually cooperate so we could go.  Well it just so happened to be a nice day on Monday, so we quickly drove down to SLC for FHE.  It was super fun, even though we forgot the stroller at home (Lily is getting way to big to carry far distances in her carseat).  We got a couple shots in front of the temple.  Avery loved the "temple pools."  The flowers were blooming in the trees, though we didn't actually get a lot of pictures of them.

After we walked around Temple Square, we decided to take Avery on the Trax.  The kid got so excited, though we were unable to catch the excitement on video or picture.  He could have  ridden on the train all day and all night.  He was quite upset that we had to leave.

Its Official!

So its finally official (in a non-official paperwork sort of way), Amanda is a nurse!  She took her NCLEX test on Tuesday and got her unofficial test results back today- and she passed!  Whoooah! And both of us just got our real diplomas the other day!  Exciting!!!

Yummy for the Tummy! and other fun tales!

So lately Lily has become very interested in watching us eat.  She will lean over to try and get it and will watch your every move while eating.  We've been putting off giving her baby food because, lets face it, it can be a hassle, and the doctor says its not absolutely necessary right now.  But the other night, Avery and Amanda brought home ice cream for a dessert, so we decided to feed Lily rice cereal (no, not as good as ice cream).  She actually really liked it.  She gobbled it up.  Her first taste, she gave a huge smile but we didn't get a picture of it.  Sorry the video is so long!

She also had her 4 month appointment (a couple of weeks late).

she is looking great!  she just learned how to roll over this week, though she doesn't particularly like to do it.  Here is our sweet Little Lily:

Avery is such a great big brother.  Today, while at the doctor, he got really concerned when the nurses came into to give Lily her shots.  He had this horrified look on his face and kept asking what we were doing for Lily.  Then he help comfort her after she got them.  He is going to be a good protective big brother!

sorry this is sideway, but its a just a picture of how big our little boy is getting!  It makes us sad and happy at the same time.  Sad that he is getting older, but excited for all the new things he is learning.

Avery likes to sit next to Lily and play with her.  He has recently been loving to "hold Lily."  He thinks its pretty radical to hold his little sister.

A couple of Saturdays, the OscarMayerWienerMobile came to our local Walmart.  We took Avery there so he could see it (we were a little disappointed we couldn't go inside).  It was cute when Avery tried to say it.  We had to run in the store for a bit and he kept asking where it was.

We've been trying to be good parents and read our scriptures with Avery.  Lately, he has been taking a real liking to "Avery's scriptures."  He loves to carry them to church and the flip through the pages.  The other night, he wanted his scriptures, even after we had read them, so we got them down for him.  Though he fell asleep with them, we are proud of him nonetheless!
