Camping in the Rain!

We were crazy yet once again.  We did our annual Memorial Day camping trip with all of our friends in the rain AGAIN.  This time, we went up to Ashton to camp in some property our friends' family owns.  It was alot of fun, but it rained, hailed and even tried to snow while we were there.  On Saturday, all the guys went golfing in the rain, and by the time they got back, they were all soaken wet.  It poured most of Saturday, but all the girls stayed in our friends' camper.

   Avery absolutely loved camping.  He didn't care that it was raining at all.  He loved to wander around camp and he liked to get a little too close to the fire.  We would tell him that it was "hot" so he would try to blow on it and then try to stick his fingers on it to "test" it out like he would when his food is "hot."  Luckily, we managed to keep him from getting burned, but we sure had to keep a watchful eye on him.  We also brought up Amanda's parents' four-wheeler and Avery had a blast riding it.  He hated to get off.  When he would ride he would go "wooooooo" just like Brian would. 

    We were able to drive up to Cave Falls about 20 miles away from camp as well as Mesa Falls.   Avery did not like Mesa Falls- either he was scared of heights or he didn't like the noise, because we couldn't get very close with him. 

A BIG Update of Our Happenings!

Well ofcourse we haven't been updating very much recentely.  One reason is our camera (which we broke while in Hawaii) decided to quit for good and we haven't gotten any pictures to post.  However, for Mother's Day, I (Amanda) got a new waterproof/shockproof/freezeproof camera from my sweet hubbie Brian and little Avery.  We love it! 

Well back to our car story.  We finally were able to get the cars towed down to Salt Lake City (the insurance company wanted that) and they totalled the green 626 car.  We got more than we thought we would for that car and we were able to buy us a used 1995 Pathfinder on a trip down to visit Brian's sister Candace in her new house (which is very cute by the way).  There are a few minor problems with the Pathfinder (namely our speedometer refuses to work, even though Brian has put alot of work and time into it).  We ended up getting a GPS to go along with it.  Avery LOVES the Pathfinder.  He calls it the "Truck" and will play and play in the truck.  We think it is because he can see really well out the backseat.  He sometimes gets upset when we go in the other car.

  As for our other car, we ended up having a rental car for 4 weeks and finally they fixed our Millenia.  It looks good as new, but we were sorta hoping for a total...it is so much fun to get new cars!  But atleast we have a working car.

  On Mother's Day we visiting my (Amanda's) parents.  We flew our kite we got for Easter and it was really fun to actually get a kite high up in the air.  Its a pretty large kite. 

  Then we spent alot of time with Brian's brother Mark and his wife Sarah and their kids Boyce and new baby Eve.  It was alot of fun to see them since they live in Nebraska right now and we hadn't even seen Eve who was born back in February.  Avery absolutely LOVED his cousin Boyce.  He could play for hours with his cousin who is 8 months older than him.  They also loved to scream in the car together and think that is pretty funny.  Since Boyce can talk fairly well now, Avery seemed to pick up alot of new words from Boyce, which is super fun to hear from Avery. 

   Then we were able to welcome home Brian's brother Michael from his mission in Alabama.  Its been wonderful to talk and hang out with him these past few days as well. Brian has already gotten him into kayaking...and we went to Downata to practice some rolling. 

  I, Amanda, also started summer school and will hopefully be graduating with Brian come December.  Its a bummer to be in school during the summer, but it will definetly be worth it.

Oh, yeah, and we got to hear a HEARTBEAT of our NEW BABY!  Yep, we are expecting a baby in November, and are super excited for that.  It will be a little crazy being in school, but we still can't wait! 

2 AM Wake Up Call!

We were awakened at 2 am wednesday morning by our neighbor who saw an SUV do a hit and run on our cars.  They slammed into the front of the green one and pushed that one into the gold car.  Luckily the license plate of the SUV fell off right next to our cars and its taken a while but finally today (Friday) their insurance company is going to take care of all the damage.

Well, we finally got some of our pictures from Hawaii put on our computer, so here are a few of them at the beach and parasailing. We really loved to surf- I (amanda) even got up, even though we didn't get a picture of it.
